Its good to see that Nokia is focussing on customers who use both the GSM and CDMA networks in the U.S. Last year we saw the Lumia 928 which was a well rounded handset, and now we see Nokia continue that trend with the Lumia Icon. If you are a Verizon customer, you would wonder how the handset will fair against one of the top sellers on the carrier, the Apple iPhone 5s.
Both the Lumia Icon and the iPhone 5s are prized at $200 on contract. However the Icon comes with 32GB of internal storage, while the iPhone 5s is limited to 16GB.. If you plan on getting the handset contract free, the Icon is even more affordable at $550, compared to the $750 asking price of the iPhone 5s with 32GB.
If you choose the Lumia Icon, you get a better hardware experience with its generous 5 inch 1080p display, 20MP PureView camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and powerful quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. Even though the Windows Phone Store offers a comprehensive list of popular apps, it cant compare to the catalogue on iOS.
If the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 (Blue) update is all is promises to be, we feel the Windows Phone experience will surpass that offered on iOS.
