HTC schedules event for March 25th to unveil its next flagship

HTC is sending out press invitations for an event on March 25th, where the company is expected to unveil its “primary flagship for 2014.” The event will take place in New York and London simultaneously where we hope to see the successor to the HTC One, which is codenamed the HTC M8.

Even though the event is over a month away, media has been buzzing with leaked images of the HTC M8. There are several speculations on what the device will be officially named with rumors suggesting 'HTC One Two’, ‘HTC One (2014)’, ‘HTC One Plus’ and others.

Along with the name, we have also seen several rumors on the device specifications. The general consensus is that the HTC M8 will look physically identical to the HTC One. It will feature a 5 inch display with a 1920 by 1080 pixel resolution, the latest quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip and a twin camera on its rear. This means that the HTC M8 will have a total of three cameras if you also count the one in front for video calls. Those two rear cameras should be able to fire at the same time, and capture additional information about a picture such as its depth. This could speed up the photographing process, and allow users to select focus after the image has been captured, not before as the standard is right now.

We will get our chance to see the accuracy of these rumors when March 25th finally arrives. Until then you can enjoy some of the leaked images of the HTC M8.
