Huawei MediaPad M1 announced at MWC

Huawei MediaPad M1
During their MWC 2014 press event, Huawei announced another new Android tablet, the MediaPad M1. Although it's a more modest device compared to the MediaPad X1, the M1 has a larger 8-inch display with the resolution of 800 by 1280 pixels. You also get front-facing stereo speakers, a 5MP rear camera, a 1MP front camera, a 4800 mAh battery which offers 8 hours of video playback, and a a quad-core 1.6GHz processor

The MediaPad M1 has a  0.3 inches (7.9mm) thin, making it one of the slimmest tablets of its class. It weights 329g, and is constructed from aluminum.  The MediaPad M1 supports LTE Cat4. Huawei says that the tablet can download a 1GB movie in one minute with speeds of up to 150Mbps. You also get  built-in 2.4/5G dual-mode Wi-Fi.

On the software side the M1 runs Android with Huawei's Emotion UI 2.0 on top. The UI offers "over 1000 diverse themes", so you'll have plenty of customization options before opting for a 3rd-party launcher. The tablet comes preloaded with voice dialing and SMS messaging apps to take advantage of the strong connection.

The MediaPad M1 will be available in the first quarter of 2014 across Europe, Russia, the Middle East, China, Japan, Asia Pacific, Australia, and Latin America. It seems none of Huawei's new devices will be reaching US customers. The official price is not revealed.
