Google Nexus 7 receives update to support Verizon LTE

As promised, the Google Nexus 7 is now available through Verizon and Google has already pushed out a software update for the tablet, which brings full support for Verizon's LTE network. If you don't own a Nexus 7, you can even purchase one from Verizon, for $350, or opt for a 2 year contract and get the device for $250.

The Nexus 7 was originally launched in July 2013, but the LTE model only arrived in September. Even though Verizon is the biggest carrier in the US, the Nexus 7 with LTE was only available to AT&T and T-Mobile networks. When Verizon was questioned on their choice not to offer the affordable Android tablet on their network, they blamed Google and Asus.

Now with the Android 4.4.2 build KVT49L update on your Nexus 7, you will be able to use it on Verizon's network. It looks like the update only brings the updated radio software which brings "full compatibility with Verizon's 4G LTE network".
