Sony has updated its PlayStation for Android and PlayStation for iOS companion apps with improved support for video and live streaming. A new feature, called Live from PlayStation, lets the user watch ongoing PS4 game streams from his or hers PSN friends via Twitch.tv and UStream feeds.
Sony has also added support for video and notifications from the PS Store. They are displayed inside the app's "What's New" section.Additionally the update squashes some bugs and resolves several stability issues.
The PlayStation app for iOS and Android lets users chat with PSN friends, receive notifications, game alerts, and invitations to game. It also has the ability to turn your mobile device to an on-screen keyboard for a PS4 console. The PlayStation store can be accessed and games or other content can be bought on the go and immediately pushed to a PS4 connected to the internet. The app ties seamlessly with one's PSN account and PS4 system, bringing Sony's vision of nothing standing between the gamer and the games pretty close to reality.
