Facebook for iOS has been updated to version 6.8 which now allows videos to automatically play on your News Feed once you scroll by them on your screen. The automatic video playing cannot be turned off, but you can make some adjustments. Fortunately while the video will play no matter what, by default the video is mute. So if you don't feel like being disturbed as you flick through your Facebook News Feed, you won't hear a thing, unless you want to.
You can download the update directly on your device through the Apple App Store or by using the following link:

Since this feature can eat into your data connection, you can disable the auto play video on a cellular network so that it will work only when you're connected to a Wi-Fi pipeline.
While this feature is currently only available on Facebook for Android, it is expected to make its way to other platforms eventually.
