Apple iPad Air is now available in 42 countries, starts at $499 for base model


Starting today, the Apple iPad Air is available for purchase in 42 countries around the world. The base 16GB model of this ultra slim tablet with Wi-Fi connectivity can be purchase for $499 in the US.

This will buy you the 7.5 mm thin tablet which weighs less than one pound. It also brings the 9.7 inch Retina display, 5 megapixel rear iSight camera, 1.2 megapixel front facing camera, and the new powerful Apple A7 processor.

If you want more the Wi-Fi + cellular connectivity versions start you off from $629 for the 16GB one, and go as high as $929 for the 128 GB iPad Air with 4G LTE modem. The new iPads support most of the LTE networks around the world, so they will be most useful for the travellers among you.
