Steve Jobs - Remembering an iCon - Two Years Later

Its a little hard to imagine that two years have passed since the world lost a true visionary in the tech world. Steve Jobs has forever changed the landscape of mobile technology and set a standard that is being used in smartphones ever since. Though two years have gone by Apple shows no sign of forgetting their fallen leader.

In a letter to Apple's employees, current CEO Tim Cook, who Jobs personally picked as his replacement, asked everyone connected to the company to reflect on what Jobs meant to the wider world as well as the company that he helped build.

The internal email from Cook to Apple employees reads as follows:
Team-
Tomorrow marks the second anniversary of Steve’s death. I hope everyone will reflect on what he meant to all of us and to the world. Steve was an amazing human being and left the world a better place. I think of him often and find enormous strength in memories of his friendship, vision and leadership. He left behind a company that only he could have built and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We will continue to honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to the work he loved so much. There is no higher tribute to his memory. I know that he would be proud of all of you.
Best,
Tim
On the first anniversary of Job's passing, Apple placed a video tribute to Steve Jobs on the Apple website homepage. On the day Job's death was announced, the Apple website tuned into a memorial page, which allowed, friends and fans to post their tribute to the man who brought the iPhone and the iPod Touch to life.

Apple is Steve Jobs, and Steve Jobs is Apple. The company itself is a part of Jobs and so he will live on through Apple. So we hope to see what started with the iPhone in 2007 continue through the years to come.

Lots of change has come to Apple under Tim Cook's leadership. Apple mobile platform iOS 7, has lost the design elements that kept it unique. Apple's choice to build a plastic iPhone is also something we can never imagine happening under Steve Jobs' management. Still Apple continues to grow from strength to strength, as a liley tribute to Steve's legacy. We only hope the company never forgets the commitment and ideals that brought Apple to become to the giant it is today.
