Purchasing a new iPhone is always pricey, and its natural that users will want to get the best deals they can on the recently announced Apple iPhone 5S and the Apple iPhone 5C. While Apple products are very rarely discounted, Walmart is offering reduced prices on both new iPhones, making them slightly a slightly more appealing retailer.
The discounts aren't earth shattering, but any savings that make their way into the consumer's pockets are worth looking into. As part of the deal to win over some new customers, the iPhone 5c is being offered at $79 with a two-year contract, which is $20 lesser than what Apple has advertised. You can pre-order the device at the discounted price starting this Friday.
The iPhone 5s on the other hand has a smaller $10 discount, and is being offered at $189 with the same two-year contract, compared to the $199 price quoted by Apple. The iPhone 5s is available in Silver, Gold and Grey. Preorders wont be available for the iPhone 5s and you will likely have to wait until September 20th when the device is set to launch.
It isn't unusual to see retailers like Walmart and Best Buy discount Apple products, but we rarely see a product offered at a discounted price before it is launched. Walmart is also offering a smartphone trade-in program that will kick off on September 21st. The discounted iPhones seem like a good enough reason to trade in your old smartphones at Walmart.
