PlayStation Vita receives (2.60) firmware update, with UI changes, improved streaming and more

Sony has released a new firmware update to their which brings software version 2.60 along with some enhancements to the user-interface, improved streaming and more. Despite the handheld console struggling to make a name for itself in a market dominated by mobile games, its good to see Sony paying attention to it.

The UI changes make the icon bubbles a lot easier on the eyes. There is also a new control panel which allows users to quickly and efficiently toggle various settings from Wi-Fi to Bluetooth. You can get access to these settings by pressing and holding the PS button, which means you can get access to them from anywhere on your device.

The new streaming feature allows you to watch content directly from their connected devices without having to save them locally. This feature is generally influenced by the upcoming PlayStation 4, but Vita users can enjoy it long before the next gen console arrives in the market.

With every title on the PlayStation 4 getting remote play support, the Vita market will be rejuvenated once the PS4 arrives and Sony clearly wants both devices to complement each other and give their users a great cross platform experience.

If you own a PS Vita, let us know what you think about the update in the comments section below
