The Ascend P6 has a 4.7 inch LCD touch display with a 720 by 1280 pixel resolution. Huawei has used an in-cell touch display which is known for being thin and contributes to the handsets thinness.
The device also has an 8 megapixel camera in the rear and a generous 5 megapixel camera in front with an obvious focus on those who like taking self portrait (selfies) photos. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and has a 2000mAh battery keeping the device running. What's impressive here is that the company has managed to pack all this into a mere 120 grams.
The handset runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with the Huawei Emotion UI on top and the company has managed to perform several power management optimizations which promise to offer 30% more power compared to competitors with the same battery cell. Huawei has also includes their AirSharing feature, which allows content with be shared instantly with other devices and TVs over the air. Huawei has added further value to their offering by including 'MagicTouch' tech to their display giving it that ultra sensitivity which allows it to be used with gloves, much like the Nokia Lumia series and the Samsung Galaxy S4.
The Ascend P6 will be released in China this month in black, white and pink with optional color-matching cases sold separately. Markets in Western Europe will be getting the handset in July through various carriers and retailers: Vodafone, Telefonica, Orange, H3G, O2, Carphone Warehouse, TalkTalk, Media Markt & Saturn, TIM, Amazon and CDiscount. There is no information in whether the device will be made available in U.S.
