Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud storage service offers 7GB of free storage which can be synced between all your Windows computers, tablets and smartphones. Today Microsoft is rolling out some interesting updates to SkyDrive with some improvements to how photos are handled.
The company has found that people mostly store their photos on SkyDrive and have thus made it easier upload and view your photos with these new enhancements.
Firstly SkyDrive will have a new Photos section which will display all your photos in a timeline. You can view and scroll through your images which will be grouped by event and time. For example if you capture around 20 photos at your birthday party and then a photo of your parking spot at the airport a few hours later, they will be storage in two different groups on your timeline.
The photos will be sorted by years and months, allowing you to quickly navigate to a particular month and view the photos. This feature will be extremely useful for those who have thousands of photos stored in their camera roll folder over the years.
You can also view all your photos in the filmstip view an then watch them in a slide show.
Another new improvement comes in the uploading performance which promises a 2 - 3 times improvement in upload times for photos.
These are definitely welcome improvements to SkyDrive and they will be rolled out to user accounts over the next 48 hours. To learn more about the updates to SkyDrive you can follow the source link.
