The Google I/O 2013 for Android app has been released, giving attendees an easy way to monitor all the activities scheduled during the conference which will start on May 15. The app has mapps to help you find your way during the conference and video streams for those back home to follow the event as it takes place.
You can download the update if you own the old version of the app through the Google Play Store or by using the link which follows:
The new version brings a few new features and improvements including the ability to sync with your Google+ ID to set up features like automatic Wi-Fi connectivity. There is also a feature which lets you scan attendees badges using NFC. The update also takes inspiration from Google Now and offers information cards which can be viewed or swiped away easily. The app is optimised across smartphones, 7 inch tablets and 10 inch slates, so you can be assured of a great experience no matter what device you own.
Other improvements include the ability to quickly sync between multiple devices, a lock-screen widget which lets you view your agenda while you are on the move, Vector based maps which provide session information and a dedicated HDMI video output to show livestreams. There is also an off-site attendee mode for livestream viewers, support for viewing Office Hours sessions and improved support for devices with RTL locales.
