A recent rumor suggest that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S IV will use advanced eye tracking to automatically scroll the content which is being displayed. This feature is expected to work with web pages, documents or any other content. Now some screenshots allegedly from the Galaxy S IV confirm the existence of this feature.
First we will have a Smart Scroll feature which will scroll pages automatically depending on where the user is looking at the screen. Apps like Chrome, GMail, the stock browser and stock email clients are expected to be compatible with this feature. Users will be able to adjust the screen in which scrolling occurs.
Next we have a Smart Pause feature which is expected to pause videos when the user is not looking at the screen.
Another feature is Smart Rotation which is expected to rotate the display based on the user’s angle of sight.
The leaked screenshots have a 1080 by 1920 pixel resolution which suggested that they were screenshots of the Samsung Galaxy S IV which is rumored to have a 4.9 inch 1080p display. However it was later confirmed to be screenshots from a leaked Android 4.2.1 ROM taken on the Samsung Galaxy S III. These features are still expected to be released with the GS IV, but there is no explanation to the full HD screenshots.
In any case we should know more when the Galaxy S IV is unveiled on March 14 in New York.
