[Android app] Chrome Beta updated (26.0) with new syncing and experimental flags
Google has released an update to Chrome Beta for Android which brings a few new features and improvements. Chrome Beta for Android allows you to test the newest features of Google Chrome before it is released to the public. It also allows you to contribute to the development of the Chrome web browser by providing feedback on the features you test. Chrome Beta for Android can be installed alongside your stable version of Chrome, so you can always switch back as some features maybe a little rough around the edges.
You can download the latest version directly on your Android device through the Google Play Store or by using the link which follows:
The update features new syncing and new experimental flags. The update also allows Chrome Beta for Android to sync your auto fill and passwords from other Chrome instances. However it is important to keep in mind that you will have to install the newest beta version (26+) on your desktop in order for the password syncing to work.
The experimental flags include a proxy data compression which connects to Google’s SPDY proxy and automatically transcodes images to the open-source WebP standard. The resources are put through gzip compression and the comments, metadata and unnecessary whitespace are pulled out of pages before being sent to users. Google claims that these improvements lead to a 23% improvement in load times.
