Samsung Epic Touch 4G receives Android 4.1 software update

The Samsung Epic Touch 4G for Sprint, which is the carrier's variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II is now receiving the  software update. Additionally the update is also bringing a new version of Samsung's Nature UX which was first introduced on the Samsung Galaxy S III.

If the new TouchWiz is the same version which was released for the international Galaxy S II, users should be able to enjoy features like Smart Stay, motion controls and more.

Android Jelly Bean will bring new great new features and improvements, including the performance improvements and smoothness offered by Project Butter, the organizational skills of the Google Now digital assistant and the interactive notifications pane which lets you see image previews, read emails and return missed calls without having to open apps.

The update unfortunately is not being offered (OTA) over-the-air and users will have to download it using the Samsung Kies software because of its large size. So simply connect your Epic Touch 4G to your computer, run the Kies software and proceed with the update.
