Nokia Lumia 920 receives Portico update across Europe and Asia


The Portico update for the Nokia Lumia 920 which carries software version 8.0.10211.204 continues to roll out across European and Asian markets, as users in  Thailand, Indonesia, Russian, France, UK, Ireland, Finland, Netherlands among others are reporting receiving the update notification.

The rollout to the International variants started back in January and we later reported that the update was being offered to Lumia 920 handsets in Italy and Germany.

The Portico update brings several new features an improvements including improvements to the Lumia 920 camera, the ability to reject a call with an SMS, Wi-Fi hotspot, the ability to keep Wi-Fi running when the screen is locked and other stability issues.

According to a statement in the Nokia Discussion Forums, the Portico update will continue its global roll-out will continue in phases over the coming weeks and is expected to complete by mid-March.

The update is rolling out (OTA) over-the-air and you will receive a notification when the update is available for your device. You can also manually check for the update availability by heading over to Settings > Phone update and click ‘check for updates’.

The entire update can take around 30 minutes to complete. Before you initiate the update make sure that your battery is fully charged and that you are connected to your Wi-Fi. Once the update is completed make sure you restart your device and check if you have the 8.0.10211.204 software version.
