Samsung ATIV Odyssey - Hands On


Samsung LogoThe Samsung ATIV Odyssey has finally been unveiled at the CES 2013 and will be heading to Verizon. The ATIV Odyssey is an entry-level Windows Phone which features a 4 inch Super AMOLED touch display with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, a 5 megapixel camera, a 2100 mAh battery and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Samsung doesn't however offer wireless charging or NFC connectivity with this device.

The handset may not have the largest display in the market but design is comfortable easy to hold and conveniently pocket-able  Samsung has managed to make the device light-weight without making it feel cheap. BY omitting certain hardware features the ATIV Odyssey should be offered at a lower price than the Nokia Lumia 822 which is also available through Verizon.

Along with the Windows Phone 8 experience, Samsung has also included their own applications including Samsung Now which offers centralized weather, news and stocks and Samsung Mini Diary which is a note taking app which the ability to record your location and draw sketches.
