Sony my Xperia is a smartphone tracking service, which is meant to be used in the unfortunate event of theft or should the owner ever loses their Xperia handsets. You can use my Xperia to location your smartphone and make it beep or view its location on a map. You can also remotely erase your data and lock your device to ensure your privacy in the case it has been stolen.
The my Xperia trademark was registered several months ago by Sony and at the time it was assumed that the company was working on a personal cloud storage service. However it seems the company is more focussed on offering their customers with a service that is lacking on Android devices and available on both the iOS and Windows Phone platform.
The my Xperia service is still in a beta stage and not available to all Sony smartphone owners. You have to be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in order to use the service and own a Sony Xperia acro S or newer handset. The service is currently being piloted in Nordic countries and is expected to roll out to users as an OTA software update by the end of Q2 2013.
