The Asus PadFone 2 is now receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update. The roll-out of the update will begin today and it will be made available to devices (OTA) over-the-air. You should receive a notification when the update is available for your device. If you haven't received a notification, you can manually check for the update by heading to Settings.
The report also suggest that the white variant of the PadFone 2 will be available for sale starting today in Singapore. It will retail for S$ 1099 (USD $883) for the 32GB version, while the 64GB version will cost S$ 1239 (USD $995). The price includes the PadFone 2 Tablet Station dock, which converts the device into its tablet form. Separately, the dock retails for S$328, while the phone alone costs S$848 or S$988, depending on chosen capacity.
The PadFone 2 is the successor to the Asus PadFone. The device features a 4.7 inch display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, up to 64GB of internal storage, a 13 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary HD camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM.
