Back in September we revealed which Samsung devices will receive the Android 4.1 software update. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 was one of the first devices to receive the update back in December and it is now the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is reportedly rolling out to Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 devices in the U.S.
The update which will offer Android 4.1.1 and will bring Google Now and the smoothness of Project Butter along with other new features and improvements to your tablet.
You can check for the update availability by connecting your device to your computer using the Samsung Kies software. You can also check for the update under Settings. Make sure that you have fully charged your device battery before proceeding with the update.
Users who have received the update have reported that the screenshot icon and Swype feature were removed following the update. While the screenshot feature is available on Android 4.1 you will have to wait for Android 4.2 Jelly Bean before you get the native Swype feature through Google’s gesture typing back on your device.
