Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie coming in Q2 2013

Qualcomm’s leaked roadmap has revealed that Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie will be announced in the second quarter of 2013, which is in line with the Google I/O in May 15. Qualcomm is also expected to introduce new chips which have been tailored to fit the new platform.

There is currently no information on what features the next version which is known as the K-Series of Android will offer, but we know that the Nexus series will be the first to savor the new update a few weeks after it is unveiled in May.

The first devices running Android 5.0 are expected to be released in Q3 2013. Which is probably when Google will release a new Nexus device. There are also rumors suggesting that Google and Motorola will release a new X Series device, which may debut the new Android.

A new hardware reference is also expected to arrive in time for the Android 5.0 launch. Qualcomm is expected to evolve the APQ8084 chip, offering a 2.3GHz quad-core processor with Adreno 420 graphics.
