The Amazon Kindle Fire HD has received the
7.2.2 software update which brings the
Kindle Free Time Unlimited feature. This feature allows your kids to easily find appropriate content on the tablet. Kindle Free Time Unlimited is designed for those in the 3 to 8 age range and each kid will get an individual profile in the home screen. Apps will have social media and commercials removed and in-app purchases will be disabled when the device is being used by one of the children. The update essentially makes it seem like you have several Kindle Fire tablets instead of one.
Amazon Prime members will have to pay $2.99 for the service for one child or $6.99 for the whole family. Non Prime members will have to pay $4.99 and $9.99 respectively.The content will offer every movie and television made for kids which is available through the Amazon catalogue.
In addition to Kindle Free Time Unlimited the update now allows you to take pictures using the front facing camera. The update also includes Swype for your virtual QWERTY keyboard, which will allow you to write by swiping your finger across the keys.
The update is being offers OTA (over-the-air) and users should get a notifications when the update is available for their Kindle Fire HD tablets. If you haven't received your update yet, it should be available on your device very soon.
With competition in the tablet market growing for Amazon with the introduction of the
Google Nexus 7 and the
