The Sony Xperia T is now receiving the Android 4.0.4 software update which brings the latest version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich along with other new features and improvements. The update is said to be rolling out to device starting in Europe and Asia and is also being sent out to the Sony Xperia TX. One of the new features included in the update is Miracast Screen Mirroring which allows you to view your Sony Xperia T interface on a compatible television using Wi-Fi.
Additionally the update introduces the Extended Standy Mode, which increases the standby time for the battery by up to four hours. It does this by switching off Wi-Fi and data connectivity when they are not in use. This takes place when the device has been in sleep mode for awhile. However calls and notifications will continue to work. Once you interact with your device, total functionality will be restored.
Sony's media apps will also be improved with the update. The Movies app will allow you to control the show from its dashboard with a small viewing window. The interface of the WALKMAN app will be improved and changes colors to match the album art. The Album app, which is similar to photo gallery, now makes use of the BRAVIA engine to improve contrast, sharpness and depth in photos and videos.
Sony also stated that the Xperia T will support HD Voice, which is claims is "the most significant voice quality upgrade in mobile history; transmitting a broader spectrum of the human voice resulting in a more natural sound filtering out distracting background noise." Meaning that voices are easier and clearer to understand.
