However the jailbrake is limited to devices running an Apple A4 processor and lower, which means it wont work on the Apple iPhone 5, new iPad or iPod Touch. In addition this is a tethered jailbreak, which means you will have to connect your device to a PC and Mac to restore your jailbreak every time you switch off or reboot your device.

[NOTE] The following method will only support A4 devices and below, including the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4. The method wont work with devices running A5, A5X, A6 or A6X processors.
[NOTE] Do not update to iOS 6.0.1 if you rely on a carrier unlock. The Redsn0w jailbreak method doesn’t support unlocking your device on iOS 6.0.1
- Download Redsn0w 0.9.15(b1/b2/b3) for [WINDOWS | MAC]
- Download and update your device to iOS 6.0.1
- Download iOS 6.0
- Run Redsn0w
- Click Extras > Select IPSW and manually point to the original iOS 6.0 (not iOS 6.0.1) for the device you want to jailbreak.
- Once Redsn0w identifies the file, select Backand go the Redsn0w homescreen.
- Click Jailbreak, then select Cydia and follow the instruction to set your device in DFU mode.
- Once Redsn0w has completed, select ‘Autoboot this device when it connects in DFU mode’ which will set your device to tethered mode.
- Open Redsn0w
- Navigate to Extras
- Select Just Boot
