[Mac app] Windows Phone 3.0 released, supports Windows Phone 8

Microsoft has re-branded their Windows Phone 7 connector syncing tool for Mac and released version 3.0 now simply called Windows Phone. Windows Phone for Mac OS allows you to manage your Windows Phone 8 (WP8) device easily on your Mac OS X computer. You can easily sync your iTunes music, movies, tv shows and podcast collection to your WP8 device using this tool. It even supports two way syncing of photos and video with iPhoto or Aperture.

You can download the app directly on your device through the Mac App Store or using the link which follows:

Windows Phone version 3.0 for Mac OS has the following features:
  • Support for Windows Phone 8 devices
  • Drag and drop files between Windows Phone and your Mac desktop
  • Drag and drop files from Finder to your Windows Phone 8 devices
  • Support for iPhoto 9.3.2 and Aperture 3.3.2
  • Support for battery charge state (Windows Phone 8 devices)
  • Enhanced capability support for Ringtone files (Windows Phone 8 devices)
  • Support for Retina display Macs
Windows Phone for Mac OS only works with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and supports the Retina Display on the MacBook Pro 13 and the MacBook Pro 15. Unlike Windows Phone for Windows the Mac version supports Windows Phone 7.5, leaving us surprised that Microsoft is choosing to isolate loyal Windows Phone 7 users.
