Amazon made the 7 inch tablet category popular when they introduced the Amazon Kindle Fire. This was followed by the Google Nexus 7 which proved that the 7 inch tablet category could be both powerful and affordable. Recently Apple decided to join the 7 inch tablet market with the introduction of the Apple iPad mini which is an expensive device with last year’s hardware.
Yet Apple’s amazing hardware design threatens to make it a top pick in the 7 inch tablet category, and we are curious to see how the newest iPad compares against Google’s Nexus 7.
The Nexus 7 offers great value for money at $200 with a higher resolution and a quad-core processor compared to the iPad mini. Meanwhile the iPad mini at $330 offers an unmatched premium design and construction making the extra cost seem worth paying. The mini even ads a rear camera which may be useful to some.
At the end the decision comes down to the user’s personal preference between design and specs. We assume the Nexus 7 will be a choice for the tech savvy while the mini would be the tablet chosen by the standard user.
