Apple iOS 6.1 (Beta 2) now available for download

It was just 10 days ago that Apple released iOS 6.1 Beta 1 to developers registered in the iOS developer program. Now the second beta of iOS 6.1 is ready for download. The update has build number 10B5105c and includes all the updates which were included in the iOS 6.0.1 update along with improvements to Apple Maps.

The iOS 6.1 Beta 2 offers insight to developers on how they can integrate the new Maps services into their third party apps. This is a very useful feature for Apple Maps to move forward with developer support in improving their product.

Its not expected that all developers would want to jump into using Apple Maps on their apps, but the beta allows developers to lay down the foundations, so that they can quickly switch to Apple Maps when it has been improved.

IN order to download the latest beta of iOS 6.1, you will have to be registered on Apple $99 per year development program package. Along with the latest beta, developers will also have access to the new Apple TV beta and Xcode 4.6 Developer Preview 2.

If you are registered to the program, head over to iOS Dev Center and get the download today. If you already have iOS 6.1 Beta 1 installed on your device, you can get the update as an OTA by heading over to Settings > General > Software Update.
