Apple iOS 6.0.1 now available for download


Apple has released the iOS 6.0.1 software update for compatible iPhone, IPad and iPod Touch devices. The update brings several performance improvements and bug fixes to iOS 6.0 including a fix for the horizontal lines on the keyboard, fixes for Microsoft Exchange and Passbook bugs, fix for Wi-Fi connectivity issues, bug fixes for the camera app.

You can download the update directly on your device through the Software Update feature through Settings > General > Software Updates, by connecting your device to the latest version of iTunes or manually using the following links

The official change-log of the iOS 6.0.1 update is as follows:
  • Fixes a bug that prevents the Apple iPhone 5 from installing software updates wirelessly over the air.
  • Fixes a bug where horizontal lines may be displayed across the keyboard.
  • Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off.
  • Improves reliability of the iPhone 5 and iPod Touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 Wi-Fi networks.
  • Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the cellular network in some instances.
  • Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match
  • Fixes a Passcode Lock bug which sometimes allowed access to Passbook pass details from lock screen.
  • Fixes a bug affecting Exchange meetings.

Apple hasn't confirmed if they have updated Apple Maps, but we think they may have used this opportunity to add some improvements to the criticized app.
