[Windows app] Windows Phone for Windows 8 and Windows RT

Microsoft has released Windows Phone for Windows which is a Windows Phone 8 syncing tool with Windows 8 and Windows RT. You can easily transfer your photos, videos, music between your phone and your PC. You can also manage your apps and set your app to automatically save photos and videos from your phone to your PC.

You can download the app for free directly on your device through the Windows Store or using the link which follows:

Windows Phone for Windows 8 has the following features:
  • Get your music, photos, and videos from your computer to your phone (and vice versa).
  • Quickly share things from your phone with Windows 8 apps (like Photos, or Search). You don’t even have to open the Windows Phone app to move things around.
  • Automatically save photos and videos you take with your phone to your PC.
  • See at a glance how much space you’re using for each type of content, so it’s easy to make sure you never run out of room on your phone.
  • Get to WindowsPhone.com to download apps, learn more about your phone, or find it if it’s lost.
Unfortunately Microsoft hasn't added supported for Windows Phone 7.5 and older devices in their Windows Phone app and its surprising to see the company has isolated its loyal customers in an attempt to win new ones.

Windows Phone 8 will be officially unveiled to the world during Microsoft’s Press Event in California. Devices are expected to be released sometime in November. Microsoft is planning to release the Windows Phone 7.8 update to existing Windows Phones, and we hope they will find some way to support  customers who stood by Windows Phone while others preferred iOS and Android.
