Microsoft Surface RT pricing revealed, now available for pre-order

The Microsoft Surface with Windows RT is now available for pre-order. The device features a 10.6-inch HD touch display, has up to 64GB of internal storage on the Windows RT which can be expanded through microSD and is powered by an NVidia Tegra based processor.

The base model which offers 32GB of storage and does not feature the Touch Cover out of the box will cost you $499. If you want to include the Touch Cover, which doubles as a keyboard, the device will cost $599, and the 64GB model with the Touch Cover included will cost you $699.

It looks like Microsoft has stuck with their claims to make price their device competitively with modern tablets. This puts an end to the rumors of an ultra cheap Surface tablet and validates the pricing rumors from back in June.

If you are interested in purchasing the Microsoft Surface with Windows RT, you can pre-order it right now by clicking the following banner. Your order is estimated to arrive on October 26, 2012. Right in time for the launch of Windows 8.

Microsoft has also launched their first Surface TV commercial to build up interest in their upcoming tablet. With both the Microsoft Surface and the Microsoft Surface RT set to launch on October 26th, it will be very interesting to see how the public accept their new products.

Microsoft has a mountain to climb in the form of competition, as they will have to compete with their own manufacturing partners for the Microsoft Surface to succeed.

Will you be purchasing a new Microsoft Surface tablet? Or do you prefer another Windows RT tablet from one of Microsoft’s partners? The Asus Vivo Tab RT which was recently priced at $599 maybe a worthy alternative.
