Samsung Galaxy S III Developer Edition now available to Verizon users
The Samsung Galaxy S III for Verizon comes with a locked bootloader and the carrier wanted to ensure their customers have a consistent experience. They also believed that unlocking the device could negatively effect the way the phone connects to Verizon’s network.
However to show its commitment to the developer community Verizon has also released the Samsung Galaxy S III Developer Edition which features an unlockable bootloader.
The Samsung Galaxy S III Developer Edition is available on Samsung’s website and the phone will only run on Verizon’s network. The 16GB model will cost you $599.99 and the 32GB version will cost $649.99. Once you unlock the bootloader you can root your device and install all the custom ROMs you want to try out.
Even though the device is meant for hackers and modders, unlocking the device will void your warranty. You can grab the device using the source link, but it is on back order at the time of writing.
