Open webOS ported to the Google Galaxy Nexus

Developers managed to somehow port Open webOS 1.0 to the Google Galaxy Nexus on the day it was launched. It was a great effort as until that point we had only seen the new operating system demonstrated on an a TouchSmart PC by HP. In any case this port is still work in progress , with hardware acceleration still needing improvement.

With a goal to make the port eventually viable for day to day use, the team will have the processed published once they have fixed the bugs and can show a fully functional unit. You can check out the progress of the webOS port on the Galaxy Nexus below.

For now the device can connect to Wi-Fi, but it doesn’t support complete phone functions. It will be interesting to see how the the operating system is eventually ported to work on different platforms.
