Apple is planning a huge revamp to iTunes which will feature a completely redesigned player, a newly remodeled store and better iCloud integration. The new version of iTunes will be available for download sometime in October.
The new iTunes has been redesigned player which is simpler to use than ever before. The new iTunes will feature simplified library views which will show you exactly what you want. Your music is sorted into albums for easy access and you can as easily browse through your movies, TV shows and apps.
With the expanded view, you can select an album and it will expand to show the songs in that album. This will allow you to listen to your music and continue browsing without having to return to your library. You will also get store recommendations for new albums based on your interests.
The new iTunes will feature a mini player which will let you search and play your favorite songs without interrupting what your doing.
The iTunes store will also be redesigned with the new iTunes on your Mac, PC, iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The popular content is served up in the shelves so you can quickly look through what you need.
The store will keep tabs of your history, so you can quickly see the content you have sampled recently. So if you preview a song on your iOS device while you are on the move, you can easily access it on your desktop computer when you are home.
Apple iCloud will allow you to access your content on all your connected devices. The content you purchase on your devices are immediately accessible on your library. If you don’t have internet connectivity you can download the content onto your device and you are ready to go
Apple iCloud also makes it easy to resume from where you left off. You just need to start a movie, TV show, podcast, iTunes U lesson or audiobook on your device and it will remember where you paused it to enable you to pickup on any other supported devices.
These are just some of the new features in the new iTunes which will be available in October. Meanwhile you may want to download iTunes 10.7 for Windows and Mac if you are planning to upgrade your devices to iOS 6.0 when it is made available on September 19th.
