The HTC 8X has a 1,800mAh battery sealed in a 10.1mm thin uni-body frame which comes in a variety of colors to choose from. Despite having heavy competition with the Samsung ATIV S from the Android veteran and the Nokia Lumia 920 with its PureView camera, HTC hopes to use its new look and Beats audio to find itself a place in the Windows Phone market.
Beats Audio offers the HTC 8X a unique audio amplifier which will power the 3.5mm audio jack and the phones speakers. It will also boost the audio signal for better sound no matter if you are listening to music, playing a game or watching video, according to HTC.
Another exclusive feature is within its 8MP camera which includes HTC’s ImageChip technology, a proprietary ISP from the company which adds some great features like ultra fast image capture and continuous shoot mode which allows multiple frames per second. The camera has an f/2.0 aperture similar to the Lumia 920.
Additionally HTC has also put a lot of work into the front facing 2MP camera which has an ultra wide 88 degree viewing angle. This allows the camera to see up to four people in front of it and will capture video at 1080p which will be a treat on your next Skype video call.
The HTC 8X will be available in the US through Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile and will come in California Blue, Graphite Black, Flame Red and Limelight Yellow. So far only AT&T has revealed that the HTC 8X will be priced at $199.99 on contract.
