Windows 8 is almost upon us. The new operating system from Microsoft promises to make a huge impact as it spans multiple form factors in its new simplified approach. Those purchasing a retail copy of Windows 8 will also be treated to a re-imagined retail package.
The standard edition of Windows 8 will be packaged in white, while the Pro edition will be in a gray packaging. The boxes signify looking through a Windows, but Microsoft's choice to add elaborate artwork behind the window makes us wonder if they have strayed a little from their simplistic theme.
However it is important to note that Microsoft has greatly toned down the elaborate packaging from Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
Windows 8 will be launched to the public on October 26th alongside the Microsoft Surface. While Microsoft's venture into touch computing has receiving mixed signals from the tech community and public, we are interested to see how Windows 8 will be received by the general users.
