LG says no Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Optimus 2X and Optimus Black

LG users will be disappointed to know that the and the will not be receiving Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

LG first reported that they will be updating the Optimus 2X will Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). Later they went on to say that they wouldn’t. This followed by a statement claiming the update was due in Q2 of this year and was reportedly delayed for !3. Now the confirmation is coming from LG Canada and they say that ICS is not coming for the handset.

The other handset which is off the ICS update list is the Optimus Black

Given that we are now looking toward Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, it is surprising that users are still left waiting for Android 4.0. We hope that LG users are enjoying newer versions of Android through custom ROMs instead of waiting for the manufacturer to play catch up.

While we aren't certain if this statement will be only valid for LG devices in Canada, we wouldn't keep our hopes on receiving the ICS update anytime soon. However stay tuned to our site, and we will be sure to update you if we get more news regarding updates for these or other LG devices.
