Sony Ericsson was very generous with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for their 2011 Xperia lineup of handsets, but everyone is now eager to find out if they will be the same with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Sadly it turns out it wont be good news for two of those handsets.
Sony has reported that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S and the Sony Ericsson Xperia mini Pro will not be receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update.
This news was revealed by Sony Mobile UK Product Manager, John Cooper who encouraged users to consider the newer Xperia lineup for the latest updates.
While he didn’t mention if the other 2011 Xperia lineup will be getting Android 4.1, it is unlikely that they will considering they share similar hardware.
Regarding the newer series of Xperia handsets, Sony is reported to be reviewing them to find out which of them will be best suited to receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, so stay tuned to our Android Blog and we will bring you updates as soon as they are released.
