A recent report suggest that the Apple iPhone 5 is the fastest smartphone in the market. In a series of performance based evaluations which compared browser, general purpose and graphics, the iPhone 5 was able to beat several top Android smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S III.
Keep in mind this test compared U.S. based dual-core handsets and not the international quad-core Galaxy S III which we have linked above.
The iPhone 5 was able to dominate the dual-core competitors, particularly in browser benchmarks where it managed to score 80 percent higher than its Android counterparts.
In Geekbench general purpose tests, the iPhone 5 narrowly overtook the Galaxy S III and the Motorola Droid RAZR M, while it trailed significantly in memory and stream scores. When it came to graphics tests the iPhone 5 was dominant, doubling the Galaxy S III score.
It seams the iPhone 5 will continue its dominance in the U.S. market until the Samsung Galaxy Note II with its quad-core processor lands on U.S. soil.
