[Guide] How to jailbreak iOS 6 Beta 1 with Redsn0w


The following guide will show you how to jailbreak iOS 6 Beta 1 using Redsn0w. Keep in mind that the beta version of iOS 6 is only available to those registered in Apple Developer network.



[NOTE] The following guide is recommended for developers only by the iPhone Dev Team. This site nor the developers of the jailbreak will be responsible for any loss of data or device malfunction which may occur from following this guide. Please proceed at your own risk.

[NOTE] This guide only supports – iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4, iPhone 4. Please do not proceed unless you own one of these devices.

[NOTE] Following this guide and jailbreaking your device, may void its warranty. Please proceed at your own risk

[NOTE] Unlockers – Please do not follow this method to jailbreak your device.
  1. Download and extract Redsn0w 0.9.13dev1 [ WINDOWS | MAC OS ]
  2. Select Extras, Select IPSW and browse and select your iOS 6 IPSW file
  3. Select Back, Select Jailbreak
    1. Place your device in DFU mode and allow jailbreak to begin
    2. Redsn0w will prompt you to install SSH
    3. Make sure the option is enabled and click Next.
    4. Allow Jailbreak to complete.
  4. Once you have entered your iOS device homescreen
    1. Select Extras on Redsn0w, Just boot
    2. This is required for a tethered boot
    3. Place your device in DFU mode once again
  5. Once tethered boot is complete your device will return to the homescreen
That’s it your device is now jailbroken. You can navigate the iOS filesystem using SSH in order to install apps or tweaks. Remember as this is a Developer Only jailbreak there is no GUI.
