There are several rumors going around regarding the Google’s upcoming cloud storage, but the latest report suggests that Google Drive may be released as early as next week.
The cloud service is expected to launch for free with 5GB of storage on board. You can opt for storage increments by paying an annual fee. You will be able to access your Google files through native apps on your Android and iOS device. Google is also expected to release apps for both the Mac and Windows platforms similar to Dropbox.
The Google Drive will probably be better set to take on it’s biggest competitor - SkyDrive rather than Dropbox. By offering proper offline document editing and syncing features users will have the same flexibility which is due in Windows 8. Since Microsoft has still to release a desktop client for SkyDrive, Google will be able to have their own solution in place months before Windows is ready to launch.
