[Android app] Google Drive


Google-Drive-launchesThe Google Drive was officially launched today as Google’s own solution to cloud storage. The service is a rebranding of the existing Google Docs with new desktop and mobile apps for offline syncing of files.

You can download the Google Drive app for your Android device directly through Google Play on your device or by using the link which follows.

Requirements Android 2.1 or higher

Google Drive will update your existing Google Docs app and will offer an upgraded 5GB of free storage in the cloud. You can get an additional 25GB for less than $2.50 a month. And you can get as much as 16TB of storage.

You can access the Google Drive by heading over to http://drive.google.com which offers a walkthrough of all the new features that are being offered with the updated service.



Note that Google Drive is still in the process of an international rollout and may not be ready for all users. In this case all you can do is sign up to be notified and wait until it is rolled out to your region.
Meanwhile you can also download the Google Drive apps for your Mac or Windows computers. The iOS version of Google Drive for the iPhone and the iPad is still not ready, but we will let you know as soon as it is released.
