Nokia 808 PureView wins award for Best New Mobile Handset at the Mobile World Congress 2012

The Best New Mobile Handset, Device or Tablet award recognizes novelty and features which have not been previously seen on a handset. So it's no surprise that the Nokia team managed to walk away with the award at the Mobile World Congress this year thanks to the Nokia 808 PureView.

The Nokia 808 PureView which runs Nokia Belle OS features a 4.0 inch display with Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by a 1.3GHz processor with 512MB RAM. But the thing which is attention worthy is it's 41 megapixel camera which no competitor has come close to matching to date.

The 808 PureView is the first of many handsets in the PureView series which will eventually make it's way to the Windows Phone platform. Nokia's push to solidify it's position as a top cameraphone maker will give the company the momentum it needs to win back it's number one smartphone manufacturer poistion.
