Sony has added two new devices to their Xperia family during the MWC 2012. They are the Sony Xperia P which was previously rumored to be the Sony Nyphone and the Sony Xperia U which was the previously rumored Sony Kumquat.

Both devices are smaller variants of the Sony Xperia S and are expected to be globally available in the second quarter of 2012.

The Sony Xperia P features a 4 inch touch display, 8 megapixel camera which is capable of capturing 1080p HD video, 16GB of internal storage and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The display of the Xperia P has a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and features Sony's 'White Magic' technology which boasts superior sunlight legibility. The Xperia P has a brushed aluminium unibody finish in three versions and has NFC connectivity compatible with Xperia smart tags. The Xperia P will be priced at €449 ($600)

The Sony Xperia U features a 3.5 inch touch display, 5 megapixel camera capable of capturing 720p HD video, 4GB of internal storage and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM. The Xperia U also features Sony's xLOUD technology and a transparent band at the bottom which changes colors. You can choose between black or pink for the black handset and you have white and white and yellow covers come with the white handset. The Xperia U will cost €259 ($345) when it goes on sale.

So you now have three devices to choose from and Sony has a device to suite everyone's budget and taste. So unless you have already chosen the Sony Xperia S as your choice smartphone, you will have two more devices to choose from very soon.
