Acer Iconia Tab A200 - Officially Announced


Until now information on the Acer Iconia Tab A200 has been quite sparce. But Acer has now made it official statement that the device would be coming soon. The tablet is said to ship in November to some markets and will run Android HoneyComb, but devices shipped in January 2012 will have Android Ice Cream Sandwich in board.

The device will not try and compete with the upcoming quad-core devices, and instead feature a dual-core Tegra 2 chip. It will also have a 10.1 inch WXGA display with a resoltion of 1280 x 800 pixels. The A200 will be 12.4mm thin, weigh 720g and be available in Titanium Gray and Metallic Red.

Acer has improved the software experience on the device by introducing Acer Ring - A skin which sits on top of Android giving quick access to apps and bringing the screenshot feature to your tablet.

The tablet is also said to feature a full size USB port which will allow you to connect your USB drives and access files and photos directly on your tablet. A microSD card slot is also available along with 8GB or 16GB storage options.

While Acer is still to reveal the pricing of the A200 we can expect it to be competitive and similarly priced to the Acer Iconia Tab A500 which was once the cheapest tablet in that range.
