[Guide] How to root HTC Amaze 4G on Android 2.3.4


The HTC Amaze 4G is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread  smartphone with a 4.3 inch display, 16GB of storage and an 8 megapixel camera.

The device has now been rooted and if you own one and wish to root your device you can read the following guide on how to get it done.

NOTE - The rooting process is meant for advanced users who understand teh consequences of rooting your device. We are not responsible for any data loss or malfunctioning of your device which may result. Please backup all your data before proceeding

NOTE - Please ensure that your battery is fully charged before proceeding. If your battery runs out during the rooting process your result may be a bricked device. 

NOTE - The root can be permanent or temporary based on the state of your bootloader. If the device bootloader is:
* Locked
- The root will be temporary and you will need to re-root every time you restart your device

* Unlocked
- the root will be permanent. Check out XDA's guide on how to unlock your bootloader.


  1. You will need to download the following files before proceeding.
  2. Install HTC Drivers on your computer. This will allow the rooting software to detect your device.
  3. Connect your device to the computer using the USB cable provided with your device.
  4. Enable USB Debugging on your HTC Amaze 4G by going to
    Settings > Applications > Development.
  5. Extract Zerg_Root_OneClick.zip to your C:/ drive and launch ZergRushTempRoot.bat
  6. After a few minuets the process will be complete and your device will be rooted
