Google's Motorola acquisition - Partners respond

We reported Google's plans to acquire Motorola mobility a few hours ago, along with our concerns that Google's partners wont be too happy about the acquisition with this would give Motorola an edge in creating Android devices.

However it turns out that Executives from Samsung, HTC, LG and Sony Ericsson have issues statements in favor of the deal.

“We welcome today’s news, which demonstrates Google’s deep commitment to defending Android, its partners, and the ecosystem,” - J.K. Shin, President, Samsung Mobile Communications.

“I welcome Google’s commitment to defending Android and its partners,” -  Bert Nordberg, President and CEO, Sony Ericsson.

“We welcome the news of today’s acquisition, which demonstrates that Google is deeply committed to defending Android, its partners, and the entire ecosystem,” - Peter Chou, CEO, HTC.

“We welcome Google’s commitment to defending Android and its partners,” - Jong-Seok Park, President and CEO, LG.

Google's CEO, Larry Page explained that this acquisition would help with the company's patent portfolio and that they would work with all (their partners) to deliver outstanding user experiences.

With Motorola's extensive patent portfolio Google and it's Android partners can definitely take a common stand against Apple.
