During the first day session of I/O 2011 Google announced movie rentals through their Android Marketplace. Thousands of titles have been promised at prices staring at $1.99.
Users can rent movies from the marketplace, watch them on the web or stream them from their Android devices. You can even download your favorite movies to watch at a later time when no network connection is available.
Your android devices will require Android 2.2 for your smartphones or Android 3.1 for tablets (when available) and will have access to this service in the coming weeks.
With Google TV 2.0 which will be powered by Android 3.1 coming soon, we will probably see this service find it's way there as well.
