[Android app] Xbox Music updated (2.0) with offline playback support

Xbox Music for AndroidXbox Music for Android has been updated to version 2.0, bringing users the ability to make their playlists available for offline listening. The update is already on Xbox for iOS, and its good to see Microsoft didn't take too long to bring it to Android.

[iOS app] Xbox Music updated (2.0) with offline playback

Xbox Music for iOS has been updated to version 2.0.31213, which now includes offline playback. Users can cache their playlists to their devices and listen to them when they don't have an internet connection. Using the Xbox Music service is completely free of charge for the first six months. After that time passes, if the user doesn't opt for a paid subscription, streaming will be limited to no more or less than 10 hours per month.

Xbox Video for Windows PhoneMicrosoft just released Xbox Music for Windows Phone as a separate application, in order to release faster updates for the app. Now they have also released Xbox Video for Windows Phone which lets you rent and buy new blockbuster movies and favorite classics, or catch up on last night's episodes of the hottest TV shows, and watch them on your Windows Phone 8, PC, tablet, Xbox One, Xbox 360, or at XboxVideo.com.

Xbox Music for Windows PhoneMicrosoft has released Xbox Music as a standalone app on the Windows Phone Store. By releasing it as standalone app, this allows Microsoft to release updates for the app in a quick an efficient manor instead of having to release it within full system updates. Microsoft releases new SmartGlass app for Xbox One

Xbox One SmartglassWith the Xbox One due out on Friday, Microsoft has released a new SmartGlass app for their new console. The app is available across all platforms, including Android, iOS, Windows Phone 8, Windows 8 and Windows RT. Last week it was Sony who updated their PlayStation companion app for their PlayStation 4 release. Its good to see that Microsoft is not wasting any time ensuring that their console is readily welcome by the public.

Grand Theft Auto V has arrived

The long awaited Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V has finally arrived for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. GTA V is the fifteenth title in the Grand Theft Auto series, and the first main entry since Grand Theft Auto IV was released in 2008.

Grand Theft Auto V is played in third-person and combines driving and action gameplay in an open world environment, allowing the player to interact with the game world at their leisure. The game is set within the fictional state of San Andreas, which is based on Southern California, affording the player free roam over the world's countryside and the fictional city of Los Santos, which is based on Los Angeles.

Xbox Music coming to iOS and Android

It looks like Microsoft's Xbox Music service won't stay exclusive to Windows Phones. Despite not bringing their subscription based music service to their own platforms, the Redmond based company plans to launch Xbox Music apps for iOS and Android devices.

Microsoft's Xbox Music gives you access to more than 30 million tunes for $10 a month (or $100 a year), if you are not a fan of ad-supported models.

Halo: Spartan Assault is now available on the Windows Phone Store and brings its amazing graphics and gameplay to Windows Phones. Unfortunately if your live in the U.S. it will remain an exclusive to Verizon Windows Phone 8 devices until August 16th. Luckily the game is available to any (high memory) Windows Phone 8 device outside of the country.

GTA 5 gameplay trailer released

Rockstar Games has released a gameplay trailer for their upcoming GTA V giving us an added incentive on why we should purchase the game. We have already seen screenshots and special editions of GTA V which is expected to arrive on September 17.

Now we can sit back and enjoy the following gameplay video, which is five minutes long and offers a offers a running commentary of some of the characters, missions, and vehicles. The game offers far more than just running and shooting your way through the usual missions, including several recreational activities such as tennis and bike riding to keep you entertained.

Microsoft looks to be serious about spreading their services across multiple platforms and devices. As of today the Xbox Music service is available on the web, with its minimalistic Windows 8 style design. Keep in mind that you will require an Xbox Music pass (which costs $9.99 per month) if you want to use the service. If you haven't used it yet, you could take advantage of a 30 day free triall.

GTA 5 Special Edition and Collector's Edition announced

Grand Theft Auto V promises to be something quite amazing when it finally arrives on September 17. The game was initially set to be launched in Spring but was later delayed to September. Now users have shifted their focus to the new launch date when they can finally enjoy the latest of the GTA franchise on their PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

Now Rockstar games has revealed some new information regarding a Special Edition and Collector's Edition of GTA V.

New Xbox features, pricing, release date revealed

Microsoft recently started sending out invitations for its Xbox unveiling event, where they will give users a chance to get the first glimpse of their next generation gaming console.

Paul Thurrott, who is generally in the know about all things Microsoft, predicted that the company will unveil the next Xbox on May 21st. Though he initially stated that the event will take place on April 24th it turned out to be the day that Microsoft sent out invitations to the press.

Now Thurrott has shared his thoughts on what we can expect from the next generation Xbox.

Microsoft confirms Xbox 360 successor, schedules unveiling event for May 21

Sony may have gotten ahead by announcing their next generation console, the PlayStation 4 back in February, but Microsoft is not planning on being left too far behind. Today the company has sent out invitations to an event which will take place on May 21st, 2013 at their Redmond headquarters.

Even though speculation of the next generation Xbox being named the Xbox 720 has been around for awhile now, the invitation simply reads "A New Generation Revealed". Microsoft has also revealed that Don Mattrick and the Xbox team will be unveiling the new console. The date ties in with previous reports which suggested that a pre-E3 event on May 21st would unveil Microsoft's next-gen console, however its nice to have an official confirmation.
