Nokia to update (S60 v5) Symbian^1

Users of older Nokia Symbian devices like the Nokia 5800 and Nokia N97 are up for a surprise as Nokia has confirmed that S60v5 devices are going to receive a UI update in 2012.

This news comes from an event held in Bello Horizonte,  where Vinicius Costa Product Manager of Nokia Brazil talked about the evolution of the Symbian OS - Anna, Belle and future updates after Belle. While the name of the update following Belle wasn't revealed the 'under construction' icon showed that Nokia is working on it.

[Guide] How to hack Symbian S60v3, S60v5 and Anna devices

The following guide will show you how to hack your Symbian S60v3, Symbian S60v5 and Symbian Anna devices using the system read/write access of an antivirus app on your device. The method will require coping three .ldd (ROM Patcher) files inside the C:/sys/bin folder.

ROMPatcher is able to hack the device only if these files are present in the system folder. Hacking is similar to Rooting on your Android device and gives you read/write access to system folders and the ability to install any unsigned apps without getting a certificate error. It will also give you the ability to install various modifications to your device.

Nokia N86 - Review

The N86 is a smartphone designed and manufactured by Nokia and runs Symbian S60 v3 mobile operating system. The device features an 8MP camera which is the first from Nokia and has a dual slider design which was made popular on the Nokia N95. The N86 has 8GB of internal storage which can be expandable through microSD and it has a kickstand which allows you to watch movies on your device. The biggest question everyone had was why Nokia didn't include a Xenon flash on this device so it can take on the mantel as successor to the popular Nokia N82

Nokia E66 receives (500.21.009) software update

Nokia has released a new update for their Nokia E66 which features a 2.4 inch display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 110MB of storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash and can be powered by a 369MHz processor with 128MB of RAM.

The update brings software version 500.21.009 can be downloaded by connecting your device to your computer through the Nokia Software Updater.

Nokia E5 - Video Preview

The Nokia E5 joins the E-Series family following the Nokia E63 and the Nokia E72. This device features a 2.4 inch QVGA display, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, GPS and a full QWERTY keyboard.

The device runs the Symbian S60 3rd edition operation system which brings a collection of Nokia’s Ovi services.
